Seeking Balance ft. Muhsin V, PRO

“I started my Dubai life at a cafeteria when I was 19 years old!”

“Like most people, I too boarded the ship to the Emirates seeking a better life & a stable income. I had to leave my family, friends and the land I grew up in, but I hoped for the best because most times, you always have to sacrifice something. That’s the equilibrium of life. So I started working at a cafeteria in Dubai. Dubai was only peaking back then and life wasn’t as fast as it is right now.”

“Although I liked the pay and stability, it’s safe to say working at a cafeteria wasn’t my cup of tea (pun intended!). So in the span of a year, I managed to secure myself a driver’s license. A friend helped me out with a reference to the manager at Alamis. Alamis was a very small company back then, with just 8 employees. I was the 9th visa stamped, and I joined as a driver!”

“Starting with Alamis was a very different opportunity for me. The responsibility was elevated to heights I’d never imagined. The days got more challenging as the company grew, but I was pretty determined to complete each problem with a hassle. Handling important submissions and documents wasn’t really something I did, but I liked the challenge.”

“One day my management heard me speak in Arabic fluently, so immediately they started training me to handle responsibilities as a PRO, taking charge of the legal government documentations and required paperwork for visas, offices and the vehicles. It’s been 14 years now since I’ve started my journey here. From just driving to now being the PRO and a support for over 100 laborer’s, the responsibility is high but it’s satisfying, I have to say looking back, I did really come a long way. The constant support of the management is what made this possible for me, I wouldn’t trade this for any other company, honestly!”

“My advice to youngsters is that, when in a dilemma, don’t think too much. Just do what your heart desires, take that leap of faith. It’ll be worth it!. Of course, don’t forget to love your work, treat people with kindness and you’ll receive it back, because that’s balance.”
